【Plant Protection Technology】September greenhouse vegetables, how to do a good job in agricultural management? Look here!

September has arrived, and the management of greenhouse vegetables has ushered in a critical period. At this time, the temperature gradually drops, the sunshine time is shortened, and the microclimate environment in the greenhouse needs to be carefully controlled. Temperature management, proper fertilization, and watering are the keys to ensure the healthy growth of vegetables and increase yields. This article will provide farmers with practical guidance on the agricultural management of vegetables in greenhouses in September to help them harvest vegetables.

Temperature management

Temperatures are gradually decreasing in September, but daytime temperatures are still likely to be high. The temperature in the greenhouse should be reasonably adjusted according to the growth needs of different vegetables.

The temperature is controlled at around 25°C-30°C during the day and 15°C-20°C at night. When the temperature is too high during the day, timely ventilation and cooling can be carried out by uncovering the film on both sides of the greenhouse or opening the top vents. As the temperature drops further, it is necessary to pay attention to the insulation work at night, which can be covered with two layers of film or covered with thermal insulation quilts in the greenhouse.

Lighting management

Keep the greenhouse film clean, remove the dust and debris on the film in time, so as to improve the light transmittance of the film and ensure that the vegetables can fully receive light. In case of continuous rainy days, the fill light can be used to make up the light artificially to meet the light needs of vegetable growth. At the same time, the planting density of vegetables can be appropriately reduced to avoid mutual shading between plants.

Fertilization management

Top dressing is carried out in combination with watering to meet the nutrient needs of vegetable growth. A combination of organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer can be applied, organic fertilizer can improve soil structure and soil fertility, and compound fertilizer can provide various nutrients needed for vegetable growth. According to the growth stage and fertilizer requirements of different vegetables, the amount of fertilizer and the type of fertilizer should be reasonably adjusted. Supplement the medium and trace elements required for the growth of vegetables, sprinkle fertilizer on the soil surface before land preparation, and then plough into the soil; It can also be applied intensively, for vegetables with shallow roots or large fertilizer needs, fertilizer is concentrated in the planting ditch or hole and mixed with soil. Foliar fertilizer sprays can be used.

Moisture management

September is relatively dry, but you should not overdo it. Water reasonably according to the growth of vegetables and soil moisture, generally every 5-7 days. Watering should be carried out in the morning on a sunny day, and avoid watering in the evening or on a rainy day, so as not to increase the humidity in the shed and cause diseases.
